92 is a Special Age Because …

92 is a delightful age. You know who you are and what you want out of life. And there’s still so much more to enjoy!

Think of Kirk Douglas. He was an amazing actor, starting in Spartacus, Champion, Paths of Glory, and so many other films. He was in a helicopter crash in 1991 (at age 75) which greatly slowed him down, and then a stroke just five years later caused him additional challenges. But he kept at it. In the year 2009, at age 92, he was in Before I Forget, a one-man show about his life.

The Bonus Years
Here on this site we not only are inspired by those who came into their own at age ninety-two. We also keep in our memories those whose lives ended when they were only ninety-two. It reminds us that our days ahead are precious. They are a blessing. They are golden time that others would have fervently wished for.

Walter Cronkite
This amazing journalist was well regarded for his attention to the truth and his ability to handle challenging situations. He loved sailing and the game Diplomacy. He also took up drumming in his later years. It was finally cerebrovascular disease – an issue with the blood vessels of the brain – which did him in.
